Agree about the flavor. Just a nice “white bread” flavor, but nothing special. Fun to make, but not a thrilling taste – my least favorite BBA recipe thus far. (I didn’t like the Casatiello because of the meat in the bread, but I knew it was a darned flavorful bread!)

I had to laugh at your comment that “You lack a third hand.” I often have to bribe my family to stand in as hand models for my pictures. A third hand sure would come in handy!! (pun intended)

I agree that these english muffins were just ok. I wanted nooks and crannies and was disappointed. I’ll have to check out Mike Avery’s recipe. Thanks for the comparison work.
